Professional Biography

Master coach in employment development, and sailboat racing crew, I am CEO of JAS Consulting, Inc. (JAS), based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am well known for a creatively different viewpoint. The organizational metaphors my mother used while I was growing up were all about teamwork because she had excelled at softball. "A team is only as strong as it's weakest player", she said, advocating fellow support. With twenty years experience connecting people to their resources, I enjoy my job of assessing needs and collaborating on resolutions.

My volunteer community activities have included Minnesota Women in Communications (MWC), Minnesota Legal Marketing Association (LMA), Advertising Federation of Minnesota, TwinWest Chamber of Commerce and Wayzata Historical Society board member. My master certification in employment development is through http://www.learningjourneys.net Learning Journeys International Center for Coaching. I hold a bachelor of science from the University of Maine in Orono, induction into sociology's Alpha Kappa Delta and a life membership in Phi Kappa Phi.

In Master & Commander, Patrick O'Brian wrote about my ancestor, Commodore George Anson who provided nobly for his men. My client work reflects the family motto, Nil desperandum—“Never give up.” A 37-year resident of Minnesota, I live in Wayzata with my husband Dennis and our daughter's cat, Bandit. The son and daughter left for college several years ago but the cat stayed.
